Thriller, Filler, Spiller

When planting flowers in a container, there are three words to remember in design - Thriller, Filler, and Spiller.  Select tall "thriller" plants for the center/back of the container, "spiller" plants to flow over the edge, and "filler" plants for in between.  We've put together a helpful container design planner that guides you on the number and types of plants suitable for your container size and shape, and a list of some plants that qualify in each of the three categories.

Tips for Healthy Container Plantings

More and more gardeners are adding color to their homescapes with container gardens.  There are many benefits to container plantings, but one of our top reasons for planting in containers is variety.  We love mixing and matching different colors and textures from pot to pot, from year to year.  When planting in a container, there are a few things to keep in mind for the greatest success.
